“Sunflowers”, oil on canvas, 24″x24″ is one of two works by Michael Anderson selected for the 2023 St. Louis Artists’ Guild Members Exhibition juried by Yingxue Zuo, Professor Emeritus at St. Louis Community College. The exhibition opening reception is September 15, 6-8pm, and is on view through October 14, 2023 at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, 12 North Jackson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63105. In response to the Illinois State Fair eliminating the professional visual artist exhibition and competition, the Springfield Art Association has created an exhibition alternative: No Place to Show 2023. Congratulations to Peggy Derhake whose piece, “Under the Ginkgo Tree” has been accepted into this show. The show will run from August 9 through August 26, 2023 in the M. G. Nelson Gallery at the Springfield Art Association located at 700 N. Fourth Street, Springfield, IL, less than two miles from the Illinois State Fairgrounds. A reception and awards presentation will be held on Friday, August 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Springfield Art Association.
