August Member Meeting: Guest Artist Carol Carter

GEAG welcomes internationally known watercolorist Carol Carter to the August 7 membership meeting. Carol will be on hand to discuss her approach to the medium of watercolor. Carol states her “goal is to create work that has an intimacy, mysteriousness and sensuality.” Her works have been featured in global publications including, International Arts Magazine, Art of Watercolour, Watercolor Artist, and L’Aquarelle Magazine. Carol Carter frequently works in series which she revisits over time including Horses in which she painted 52 horses in 52 weeks; Growth Portraits, a continuing series of 30”x40” portraits of her son from every year of his life from birth to his current age and most recently Threads, seventy-five watercolor portraits each documenting an immigrant’s experience representing thirty seven nations of origin. “At its best, my work also has an edge; something in it that takes a moment, a second look, an effort to comprehend.”
