Two paintings by Michael Anderson, including the image shown Altadena Swap Meet, have been selected for exhibition in Art Saint Louis 40, the gallery’s 40th annual all media, all subjects/themes, all styles, all techniques exhibition highlighting the work of the region’s visual artists. For this year’s show, 700 artworks in all media were submitted by 192 St. Louis regional artists for consideration by Juror Sherry Leedy, a Kansas City gallery owner, from which she selected artworks by 69 artists for the exhibition. Altadena Swap Meet began its life as live demonstration painting at a GEAG membership meeting. “Although the Altadena Swap Meet is an actual literary event, the title suggests an image of poets and writers browsing through white tented booths looking for second-hand verse and used prose under the bright California sun.” -Michael Anderson
