I grew up with a mother who painted and sketched in her free time for enjoyment. She encouraged that with her children. I never started painting until I retired and it has been a hobby of mine since. I love nature and painting because I find more to be restorative, similar to meditation. I have primarily painted from, first other artists then my own photographs. More recently, I have been attempting to put my own interpretation of a photograph by altering the composition and/or changing the colors. Most recently, I have been creating a few paintings from my imagination rather than a photograph.  Mediums are watercolor and oil/water soluble oils.
