Suzanne Lowry

The
techniques and subject matter of Suzanne
Lowry, A.A., B.S., M.A., have been influenced
by her background as a physics instructor at

author of research in remote sensing for the
Cahokia Mounds Palisade Project, as a writer
for several various publications, and as a
lifelong volunteer and founder for many
continuing projects for children's charities.

encouragement and guidance of such master
artists as Ed Karasek, June Kelly, David and
Shawn Cornell, and Billyo
ODonnell. Her work has won

exhibits of the St. Louis Artists Guild

Statement
I am drawn to
the symbolic and simplified. I love to
identify the essence of a subject and strip
away the extraneous details. In my Sculpture
on the Rocks series and
my Man-a-Kins
photo series, this translates to the use of
body language, rather than facial
expressions, gender, and musculature, to
convey my feelings. I frequently use
copper as a design and structural tool to
harmonize my various media. Whether
working with photography, sculpture, or
painting, I move between different materials
and techniques to maintain uniqueness as the
hallmark of my work.
