Kathy
Gomric
Born
Kathleen Marie Gomric on September 2, 1954
and being a southern Illinois resident all
her life she creates fantasies in
black/white/shades of greys. Drawing was
always a natural, God given talent and was
always a part of her life. Even thought she
draws in black, white and shades of grey, her
drawings are by no means colorless. Color,
excitement and creativity explodes from the
page! Her drawings are sometimes bizarre,
mythological, surrealistic drawings and even
in her simplest figure drawings of lines and
shades she creates excitement and intrigue.
Many times a drawing grows from a single
thought, a single shape and blooms across the
page until the artist feels it has reached its full
expression. Her drawings have impact, feeling
and imagination, images jump from the page
out of the shadows and sprawl across the page
with energy and excitement.
Formal
training consists of drawing and design
classes under the instruction of Dale
Threlkeld and various workshops in the
southern Illinois. As an active member of art
groups in the area she exhibits in many
venues. She is a member of Art St
Louis, St Louis Artists Guild, The
Contemporary Museum of Art and Gateway East
Artists Guild and the Artists For Charitable
Events Registry.

Artist
Statement: Drawing is my passion, it
comes from within, a God given talent. Images
emerge from shadows, burst into form and flow
across the page until they reach full
expression.
