Jerie Artz
I
learned to paint and draw at an early age
inspired by my oil painting/water color
artist mom who always told me no one
will tell you to sit down and paint. You
have to take the time, youre worth
it. I believe if you have the desire to
create and to paint, you can do it! Living in
France for many years has provided a great
inspiration for my watercolors. I have been
greatly influenced by the beauty of provence
as well as the four seasons where I live. I
have had the privilege of studying porcelain
painting under Ann Cochenower, Joan Cress,
Carlos Spina and MarJean; watercolors under
Adabelle Hill, Tony VanHaselt, Steven
Blackburn and Randall Higdon. Over the years
I have participated in art shows and fairs in
France, California, Michigan and Indiana.
Artist
Statement
There is
something restorative to the soul in
participating in the creative process. We
sang as children only God can make a
tree, yet I find great pleasure in
trying to capture the essence of a tree or
landscape on paper, or a flower or fruit on
porcelain.
