Amy Pawlitschek

I work in the areas of Digital Imaging & Photgraphy

Artist Statement I never know when I will be inspired to shoot a roll of film, (I prefer my film SLR's, of which I have several) so I usually carry a camera with me everywhere.  I also like camera's that are toally different from the norm like the camera's found at lomography.com, in fact I own one with 9 lenses and one with 4, makes for some interesting photo's.   And since I know few artists especially women, who love shooting pictures as much as I do, most find me quite bizarre but if I wasn't a little bizarre, I wouldn't be a true artist so I take it as a compliment. I believe all artists are constantly thinking, like I am, because there is no limit to what you can create. I like working in the area of digital Imaging as well (manipulating photo's  via Photoshop) because it is amazing to me how much you can change a simple photo into a complex work of art with the most minor changes such as changing from color to black and white or printing your image on different kinds of paper such as waterclor or changing the size of the image.etc. I like to use my everyday life and feelings about it in all photo's I take or images I create. For example, to me their is nothing more innocent and pure than a smile on a young child's face, nothing more honest than a sunrise, nothing more humbling than a homeless person on a busy street of a large city.  Every time I experience any aspect of life I'm thinking of how can I convert this into a work of art to best express of how I feel about whatever it is I see without taking away from the beauty or honesty of the subject or object. I can sum of up most of most of my thoughts on art this way, how do I know what I think until I see what I say? And what better way show what you think than through a piece of  orginal art
