Scott taught art at an elementary school for seven years and in that time achieved two Masters Degrees in Education and Educational Administration. For over a decade, Scott has served as a principal of an elementary school in St. Louis, Missouri. Although this is a demanding career, both in time and energy, he has always found time to create works of art while achieving his Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Scott lives in Columbia, Illinois with his wife and their son, Finlay.
“My most recent work examines the relationships we have with one another, our surroundings and ourselves. My paintings are a journey of various feelings and experiences. I use color to depict emotion. Each painting has over fifty layers of transparent oil paint built upon each other and takes nearly one year to complete. The layers represent the complexity of human needs, desires and emotions.”
